Position Overview: 

The Quality Assurance Manager is Randstad’s expert in application testing methods and procedures. This role ensures consistent quality in the application environment by developing and enforcing quality assurance procedures, validating processes, providing documentation and training Randstad IT personnel on quality assurance best practices. The QA organization at Randstad has been on a journey over the past 5 years establishing and maturing it’s process, tools, metrics, and people. We are looking to continue this trajectory with a new leader within our team. If you enjoy a fast-paced, constantly evolving, complex environment then this is the right place for you. 

 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Assess current processes, then design, implement, maintain and continuously improve testing methodologies that support the validation, reliability and quality of software developed by the Randstad IT team and its partners
  • Work with IT Program Managers, Project Managers, Software Development Managers, Business Analysts, Customers, and other stakeholders to understand business process and requirements, functional designs, and technical implementation details
  • Direct test activities and report to stakeholders on the quality and reliability of applications
  • Instill operational excellence using solid performance metrics to implement a set of robust processes to ensure quality
  • Define, communicate and implement software quality assurance standards and best practices
  • Develop, publish and train technical teams on best practices for identifying and resolving defects
  • Formally define and communicate testing methodology, test phases and deliverables required for all software implementations (i.e., unit test, system test, integration test)
  • Design test suites to be implemented by project (or other) team members
  • Develop and report key quality metrics and identify short and long-term plans for improvement
  • Manage development of a comprehensive suite of reusable test cases to provide full test coverage
  • Investigate and propose solutions for test automation where efficiencies can be gained
  • Continually identify process improvements to eliminate inefficiencies and enable application quality
  • Confirm continued quality of applications by running systematic tests to audit quality processes
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for performance and system load testing
  • Collaboration with UAT partners to drive an efficient and effective user testing process and experience
  • Driving our non-production Environment Management process
  • Experience building and leading an offshore QA team

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years’ hands-on test planning and execution experience
  • 8+ years experience with designing, implementing and maintaining high quality testing standards and procedures
  • 5+ years leading a QA organization
  • Expert in QA concepts and methodologies
  • Experience effectively using and communicating QA metrics to drive improvements
