Position Title: IT Program Manager

External Description:

SUMMARY:

The IT Program Manager plans and manages assigned global programs for the organization. This role works closely with IT and business teams to manage a program from initiation through delivery with a focus on delivering on-time and within budget while aligning with overall company strategy.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the day-to-day aspects of large-scale enterprise programs including: planning, status delivery, communications and issue/risk management
  • Develop/Maintain project charter including scope, assumptions, success criteria, budget, schedule and change management plans in conjunction with Project Sponsor, business owner and Technical Lead
  • Lead program meetings including kick-off, status, executive steering committees, requirements gathering, implementation and closure discussions
  • Develop, maintain and report on program schedule, dependencies, assignments and issues
  • Partner with program sponsors and key stakeholders to manage scope, plan and success measures
  • Facilitate effective communications with all stakeholders in support of project
  • Report regularly to all levels on program: status, schedule, budget, risks and issues
  • Convene Project Change Board to review/approve change requests to budget, scope and schedule
  • Manage multiple components/phases of the project concurrently

  • Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent negotiating negotiation, conflict and judgement skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members
  • Ability to manage coordination with outside vendors and organizations effectively
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively
  • Ability to quickly define dependencies and issues, and outline mitigation plans against risks
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a changing/growing environment
  • Deep knowledge and experience using common project management tools (e.g. MS Project, PlanView, Workbench, Clarity, SmartSheet)
  • Significant experience with PowerPoint, MS Visio, Google Docs

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience 
  • 7+ years managing large scale, cross functional global/enterprise projects
  • Project management certification(s)
  • Extensive experience with multiple project methodologies (e.g. agile, waterfall)
  • Strong expertise in the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, functional and technical analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, and testing methodologies

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Staffing industry and global project experience
  • Experience with Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tools
  • Process improvement certification(s)
  • Change management certification/experience
