Position Title: Sr. Business Systems Analyst

External Description:

The Data Analyst day-to-day activities include: Partner with stakeholders throughout Randstad through the full lifecycle of data transformation from data source discovery and exploratory analysis, to creation of source to target mapping documentation. Consult and collaborate with teams to provide timely and actionable insights that help drive data quality by design. Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and engineering teams to ensure accurate, high quality data concepts are derived from existing data.

 

The candidate must be inquisitive, detail oriented, and highly motivated, passionate about data, and they must possess excellent communications skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing, high pressure environment. 

The role will focus on the following areas and require knowledge & skills outlined below:

 

  • Analytics: Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, data analysis, presenting findings, and providing evidence based guidance.
  • Knowledge: SQL (Oracle, MSSQL, bigquery), Agile, Jira, Confluence, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Data/Process Flow Diagrams, data modeling, data BI tools (Tableau, Data Studio)
  • Data Engineering: Working knowledge with BigQuery and various relational databases, data flow architecture, knowledge of system integrations, ETL/ELT

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

40% Data Analysis: Acquires and interprets data from primary and secondary sources, turning it into requirements/pseudocode in support of business processes. Finds gaps in data quality and availability that limit the successful extraction of knowledge required, and assist in the design and planning efforts of removing those gaps. 

 20% Requirements/Acceptance Criteria: Completes work independently, with some supervision. Self starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Work with the product owner and team to prioritize business and information needs. Translate business processes into data mapping documents and pseudocode. Translate complex technical designs into data flow processes for the business.

 20% Team: Translate (written and verbally) research findings, requirements, and business needs to the engineering team to ensure accurate products are produced. Provide status updates to team members on a regular basis and clearly escalate issues and risks to management as needed. Use information gathered through prior experience, knowledge sharing with other team members, education and training to resolve issues and remove project barriers

 20%   Product Owner & Stakeholder Collaboration: Aligns requirements and research with product owner expectations. Responsive and diplomatic. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of company personnel. Ability to maintain positive relationships through changing project requirements and priorities in a deadline-driven, dynamic work environment. Meet deadlines, and exceed goals in high-pressure situations. Customer focused.

 

 Experience/Education

  • 4 year/Bachelors Degree required, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Mgmt or Statistics preferred field of study
  • 5-7 years Defining, analyzing and crafting Req/User stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • 5-7 years Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries and presenting findings
