Position Title: Business Analyst - Data Mgmt

External Description:

The Business Analyst, Data Management has significant experience in data management, notably identifying requirements and structuring information in a way that is clear, concise and flexible for a broad set of use cases and stakeholders.  Data Management is focused on establishing a globally aligned information model (or GAIM) that is our common language across the Randstad data ecosystem in support of our global business capabilities and data-centric strategy.  Ultimately, this individual becomes the expert in the room regarding the GAIM.

The Business Analyst, Data Management day-to-day activities include: Partner with stakeholders throughout Randstad through the full lifecycle of global data management for our globally aligned information model and associated enumerated values and business rules.  This ranges from requirements gathering, model definition, stakeholder engagement and validation, publication and training, to ongoing support.  Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, data experts , analysts, and engineering teams to ensure accurate, high quality data concepts are derived from global business practices and data.

 

The candidate must be inquisitive, detail oriented, and highly motivated, passionate about data, and they must possess excellent communications skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing, high pressure environment. 

The role will focus on the following areas and require knowledge & skills outlined below:

  • Data Management: experience harmonizing and/or modeling information in one or more of the following domains:
    • people
    • company
    • org structure and resources
    • product / marketing / commerce (e.g. CRM, Salesforce or Bullhorn are a plus)
    • jobs and applicants
    • HR / finance & accounting / legal & risk
  • Analytics: Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, data analysis, presenting findings, and providing evidence based guidance.
  • Knowledge: Agile, Jira, Confluence, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Data/Process Flow Diagrams, data modeling.  The following skills are a plus:  data governance, SQL (Oracle, MSSQL, bigquery), data BI tools (Tableau, Data Studio).
  • Data Modeling and Data Systems:  Understand schemas, models and how data gets structured.  Working knowledge in the following are a plus:  BigQuery and various relational databases, data flow architecture, knowledge of system integrations, Salesforce

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 40% Requirements/Acceptance Criteria: Independently completes work with minimal supervision, guides others. Self starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Comprehensive understanding of standard business processes.  Translate business requirements into information management structures that support global functional capabilities.  Work with the product owner and team to prioritize business and information needs. Translate business processes into the globally aligned information model, accepted ENUM values, and business rules. Translate complex business capabilities and functional requirements into a clear, concise, flexible information model.  Devise solutions for highly complex problems across multiple lines of business, countries and centers of excellence - “Global Enterprise level solutions”
  • 20% Data Analysis: Acquires and interprets data schema and approaches from primary and secondary sources, turning it into information requirements in support of business processes. Find or collaborate on gaps in the information model that limit the successful support of global business capabilities, and assist in the design and planning efforts of removing those gaps. 
  • 20% Team: Translate (written and verbally) research findings, requirements, and business needs to the engineering team to ensure accurate products are produced. Provide status updates to team members on a regular basis and clearly escalate issues and risks to management as needed. Use information gathered through prior experience, knowledge sharing with global stakeholders and other team members, education and training to resolve issues and remove barriers to enrichment and adoption of the globally aligned information model.
  • 20% Product Owner & Stakeholder Collaboration: Aligns requirements and research with product owner expectations. Responsive and diplomatic. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of company personnel. Ability to maintain positive relationships through changing project requirements and priorities in a deadline-driven, dynamic work environment. Meet deadlines, and exceed goals in high-pressure situations. Customer focused.  Act as liaison and be the functional and information-minded driver for business and technology solution requests related to the globally aligned information model.

EDUCATION:

  • 4 year degree Bachelor's Degree  in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Management

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years Defining, analyzing and crafting Req/User stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • 5 years Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries and presenting findings
  • 5 years Demonstrated experience with data management and information modeling
