Position Title: Sr Technical Product Manager

External Description:

Objective
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the global data governance team in the formation and execution of data governance framework, policy, and standards. This position assists in the implementation of an enterprise data governance program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
  • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries and provide reports.
  • Manages data definition, business rule, etc. changes through a defined intake process.
  • Works closely with the business/IT to ensure alignment of master and reference data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements.
  • Develop control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Ensure controls are in place over key applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
  • Ensures quality and integrity of master data in key systems, as well as, development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems working with data stewards through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
  • Provides assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards.
  • Manages, analyzes, and drives data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.
  • Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
  • Recommends and facilitates data cleansing to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access.
  • Provides data consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to clients to improve client database systems.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years data quality or similar level data analysis experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis or computer programming
  • Experience with DG tool suites (e.g. Informatica, Collibra, Alation, etc.), and specifically implementation/operational usage Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Data Quality capabilities within these tools.
  • Experience working with information security practices (e.g. Data Classification, sensitivity tagging, etc.) and available security software packages.
  • Experience working with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures.
  • Experience working with cloud data lakes (e.g. GCP, AWS, Snowflake, etc.) and traditional relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • Data management / governance certification(s)
  • Experience with data administration, data modeling, design, and architecture.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce)
