This job is for you!  

This position is a functional leader that manages the evaluation, planning, implementation and administration of the company’s various Health & Welfare programs for US employees. You will be responsible for the administration and management of benefit plans, with a focus on effectiveness and employee experience. The Benefits Manager establishes strong partnerships with payroll, accounting, HR support call center, HR Business Partners, and business leaders. This role will also heavily partner with vendors to ensure administration of the plans are competitive, effective and in full compliance with the plan documents.

Principal Responsibilities 

Program Management:  Manage core benefit plans including vendor management, employee communications, new hire and open enrollment.   Function as a subject matter expert on benefit programs.  Deep understanding of the vendor landscape and system requirements.

Plan Management & Compliance:  Responsible for plan compliance with new and existing regulations.  Maintain professional and technical knowledge of employee benefits. Ensure accurate operations through plan recordkeeping including enrollment files, processes and audits.  Accountable for benefit plan management according to plan documentation.  Able to independently work with leaders and employees to navigate confidential and sensitive situations requiring a high level of service and attention. Provide compliance reporting and escalation of risk assessments to the leadership team.

Financial Management:  Responsible for accurate payment of claims, premiums and administrative fees for US benefit programs. Assists with ensuring processes are in place to accurately report and pay for benefits.  

People Coaching & Relationships:  Partner with HR and business leaders to support employee/talent attraction and retention.  Lead with empathy and understanding.  Provide guidance to other team members and/or direct reports.  Build effective relationships leveraging our collective passion, expertise and resources to support talent and employees.

Education, Experience, Qualifications & Skills (Required and Preferred):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or other related field, advanced degree preferred; professional certification such as CEBS preferred
  • 7+ years overall benefits experience with a sound foundation in benefit plan operations, data feeds, audits, compliance and financials
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills across a variety of audiences including employee and leadership level communications
  • Strong excel skills with large data sets
  • Fundamental understanding of HR systems required, PeopleSoft preferred
  • Strong business acumen including understanding of financial operations and impacts of benefit plans
  • Project management and high level of organizational skills
  • Proven leadership as a partner versus direct manager
  • Consultative and collaborative approach to problem solving
