Your day to day

This position is responsible for leading content development and distribution of internal employee communications for the U.S. Will guide the launch of a US-centric global intranet. Leads the Communications Working Group, which is composed of communications partners across all U.S. business groups and lines of business. Effective use of a variety of digital communications channels is key, and a primary responsibility will be to identify new/emerging communications tools, platforms, services or software to innovate and bring our communications strategy to the next level. The right candidate will have a passion for the audience experience, design, written and rich media communications, and knowledge of how to leverage each to achieve communication goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employee communications content creation. Will include significant writing and editing (newsletters, articles, email copy, video scripts, etc.) but also working with content agency, graphic designers, email team, photographers/videographers, as needed. Works closely with the Head of Communications to ensure content helps employees understand and align with company strategy, feel connected to Randstad and be inspired to deliver on our growth ambitions.
  • Guides audit, mapping and migration of content from existing intranet and Google sites to one global, US-centric intranet in partnership with PMO and IT lead. Will serve as primary content manager once the site is launched in Q3.
  • Leads the Communications Working Group and facilitates weekly meetings with communication business partners. Accountable for maintaining a shared editorial calendar across the organization.
  • Manages employee content distribution across all channels (intranet, email, other). Responsible for uncovering our employee segmentation capabilities in order to produce targeted communications. Responsible for exploring and recommending new tools, platforms, software, etc. to create a better employee experience.
  • Actively measures and continually seeks to enhance the effectiveness of our employee communications: quantitative (analytics), qualitative (soliciting employee feedback)
  • Manage any outside vendors to support execution of internal communications programs.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. B.A. in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or English preferred.

Experience

  • 8-10 years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position, including internal communications, change management, and executive communications.
  • Track record of developing and delivering internal communication strategies
  • Experience working closely with senior level stakeholders

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, and solid presentation and interpersonal capabilities
  • Aptitude for translating a variety of topics into broadly understandable messages, tailored to various audiences using appropriate tone, nuance and level of detail
  • Strategic thinking with an ability to plan in the context of broader company priorities and direction
  • Large company experience in a communications role
  • Work well under pressure with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to interact with internal stakeholders at all levels, including executives
  • Confidence and a commitment to accountability (self and others) across multiple project teams
  • Experience with editorial calendar development
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience or personal passion for UX a huge plus (understanding of UX and how copy and design support each other)
  • Willing to be available after normal business hours for urgent communication needs or a crisis (only as needed/this is minimal)
