Business Services Analyst Job Responsibilities

Position overview: A billing analyst generally understands Randstad’s products, services and systems. Responsible for the accurate and timely analysis and processing of billing and accounting functions relating to various sales activities of the Randstad Technologies Solutions (RTS) POD. You will be required to work fairly independently while managing a moderate portfolio of customers and RTS processes. Expectations will include the ability to make decisions, identify, communicate and problem solve any issues or exceptions, demonstrate strong relationships with internal and external customers and identify and execute process improvements.

Principal responsibilities: 

  • Work with Contracts Management team to ensure new and existing customers are invoiced accurately and in alignment with contractual terms by processing new or updates to customer contracts accurately
  • Submit invoices using email or customer’s tool, creation of some manual invoices and analysis of invoicing trends, issues or gaps
  • Complete weekly billing process and related financial reporting
  • Conduct accounts receivable activities through payment research, monitoring of payments and occasionally directing cash application
  • Research and resolve billing system production issues
  • Research and resolve billing operational issues presented by the customer and field personnel
  • Identify processing inefficiencies or gaps.  Determine and document a solution. Communicate and train process changes as needed
  • Conduct operational audits to ensure compliance with company and department policies
  • Prepare analytics and/or models to better understand billing metrics (eBilling participation, wrong invoice %, customer payment pattern, etc)
  • Work closely with other departments within the company to resolve issues and define opportunities for business process improvements
  • Collection on invoices via research, analysis, collection calls and emails
  • Prepare and distribute reporting for Solutions aging, invoicing and sales tax
  • Perform reconciliation of VMS data to Randstad data for payroll and billing.  Manage variances through action plans, sales adjustments, pay/bill adjustments or write offs. 
  • Provide customer service through written and verbal communications to field partners, support teams, clients and other Randstad internal departments. 
  • Manage team mailbox requests for assigned work which will include research and ad hoc requests
  • Conduct research for third party vendors invoices and request payment release

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.  Educational background in business, finance, accounting, computer science or math preferred
  • 3 + years of work experience in business operations, accounting, financial analysis, or data analysis
  • Preferred experience in Staffing or a Service Industry
  • Experience interfacing with other teams and customers, providing positive customer experience, working through conflict or complex matters
  • Accounting knowledge and Peoplesoft experience a plus 
  • Knowledge of Randstad operations and systems, including Project Accounting System, High Radius and Replicon is an asset
  • MS Excel skills at an Intermediate level or higher 
  • Accounting and G/L knowledge 
  • Query and Reporting skills
  • Proficient using Google mail, calendaring and shared drives
