Project Objective
The Marketing Data Specialist is responsible for marketing related project monitoring and reporting as well as identifying and mitigating risk; He/she will be responsible for creating a reporting structure, repeatable, scalable process and ensure ROI tracking, and ensuring that the initiative/jobs are progressing as expected and there is visibility to results. This role includes designing, developing, implementing an end-to-end analytics architecture to deliver marketing and sales analytics and support business needs. This position partners with other marketing leaders to enable organizational alignment towards critical business objectives and provides the marketing organization, critical measurement and best practice infrastructure. The Data Specialist will collaborate with our stakeholders and to create differentiated measurement in a fast paced environment as well as with business and IT to identify key business requirements. This Marketing position plays an important role as a technically oriented individual, who is committed to take the initiative and consistently drive for results as well as making recommendations about the methods in which we obtains and analyze data to improve quality and the efficiency of data systems. This role is responsible for ensuring clear objectives (SMART goals) for the departments projects and performance measurement of each initiative: Tracking incremental, measurable results for ALL marketing efforts. This individual should be able to translate numbers into plain English. The data specialist’s job is to take data and use it to help Randstad make better business decisions.

Position Summary

Reporting/analytics:

  • Prepare reports for both internal and external audiences using various business analytics reporting tools. Create dashboards, graphs and visualizations on data
  • Identify, collect, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Generates, reviews and reconciles standard weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports accurately to help Marketing identify what's working and what's not as well as attainment of metrics toward goals (include data for KPI's and Revenue achievement) and distribute to appropriate team members
  • Work to establish departmental benchmarks and provide meaningful measurement of marketing programs that will result in increased profitable business. Support reporting for all marketing projects.
  • Ensure that reporting component is included in all initiatives, and planned during story writing. Execute data pulls from internal CRMs to be used for ROI metrics.
  • Internal reporting: Work to develop meaningful measurement of internal Agile processes, with bi-weekly reporting on established ratio goals (i.e. initiative vs non-initiative work, RUS vs lines of business, etc.); ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Interact with business stakeholders / partners to understand their business and reporting needs, including critical metrics and KPIs
  • Transform business requirements & wireframes into a guided analytics prototype to provide business and data insights
  • Design, develop and test integrated reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Work closely with BI team to provide input on appropriate solutions to meet business requirements and are consistent with current reporting standards and processes

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas where Randstad needs to improve in efficiency and process automation. Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Work with both internal and external clients to adequately understand data content. Monitor and audit the quality of data
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Work collaboratively with IT, PO's and Ops teams to prepare and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) involving data processes.
  • Proactively make recommendations and suggestions to VP, Marketing Strategy on data process improvements and additional reporting recommendations.
  • Drive consistency in reporting across the department
  • Liaise with Softcylics/other vendors on reporting analytics.
  • Training/Mentoring colleagues

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably marketing-related
  • 4 years of traditional and digital marketing experience
  • 2 years experience in the preparation and fulfillment of data reports

  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, GA and other productivity tools.
  • Data Skills: Experience in data modeling and building an analytics architecture with big data involving disparate data sources. Experience optimizing dashboards with focus on usability, performance, flexibility and standardization. Experience in data cleansing/transformation activities and in end-to-end implementation of BI projects for developing a portfolio of scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboards
