Position Title: Manager, Systems Development

External Description:

The PeopleSoft Development Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of system development and deployment. This includes directing IT operations to meet customer requirements, the support and maintenance of existing applications, as well as development of new technical solutions ensuring that requests are in alignment with organizational goals. Must supervise a team of developers and business analysts while working closely with management and external vendors. Responsible for identifying new opportunities and leading efforts to improve IT processes. May also research and recommend new products.The PeopleSoft Development Manager will exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance that are directly related to the management and operation of the business
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development and implementation of organizational information systems as well as responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications.
  • Must apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission critical information and software systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for designated software applications and perform analysis of enterprise business and technical requirements to provide interdepartmental process improvement.
  • Maintains customer relationships via communication with management, business users, and vendors to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate IT services to customers.
Education
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree (Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field)
  • Graduate Degree (Management or tech focus preferred)
Work Experience
  • 5-10 Experience in IT with progressive responsibility
  • 3-5 Experience as a Developer
  • 2 Managing projects and performing as a Team Lead
  • Experience researching and evaluating new technological advances as it relates to implementing IT changes
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast moving environment
  • Familiar with new technologies as they relate to implementing new systems; stay current with state of the art developments and integration technologies
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate professional staff
