Position Title: Big Data Analyst

External Description:

Randstad USA is seeking a passionate Data Analyst who will play a crucial role in our Data Science team in turning data into insights, directly impacting business decisions.  This individual must be able to conduct full lifecycle activities including functional requirement analysis, model development, and model evaluation/validation. The candidate is also expected to identify areas where the model can be improved.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in large and complex data sets
  • Develop and implement data collection, and data cleansing processes
  • Work with different teams to better understand the business and the challenges
  • Build processes and procedures to continuously improve data analysis lifecycle
  • Develop creative and simple ways to present complex insights
  • Work with management to prioritize tasks

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or equivalent plus 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree required
  • Experience in using one of Matlab, SAS, R, Python, Octave, or SPSS
  • Experience creating data visualizations
  • Understanding of regression, classification, and clustering methods
  • Understanding of applied statistics and/or machine learning
  • Skilled with SQL and interacting with relational databases
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with natural language processing tools is a plus
