Position Title: Accounting Supervisor

Position Overview: 
The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for reconciling balance sheet and operating statement accounts with high risk, reviewing the overall results of company, managing Staff and Senior Accountants and supporting the overall operations of the Accounting Department.
 
Principal Responsibilities   
  • Perform complex balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis for accounts with high risk, including preparing journal entries
  • Review the results of overall company; investigate and report on variances
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and year-end close responsibilities
  • Facilitate the teams efforts to document existing accounting procedures and processes based on thorough understanding of areas
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting to Holding
  • Prepare analytics and/or models to better understand business results; work closely with the Finance Planning team to understand budgets and forecast and the related variances
  • Provide training and guidance for Staff and Senior Accountants, including career development and coaching
  • Lead external audit timelines and tasks
  • Lead key control framework testing timeline and documentation
  • Use technology to streamline manual processes
  • Recommend process improvements, assist in implementing process improvements
  • Special projects
Education & Experience: 
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, required
  • CPA license or CPA track, preferred
  • 5-7 years of Accounting experience
  • Progressive leadership
Qualifications & Skills: 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, required
  • Experience with JD Edwards, Peoplesoft and/or Hyperion, preferred
  • Must be a team player with ability to maintain a positive attitude in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects at once
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to provide leadership to Staff and Senior Accountants
  • Strong analytical skills
