Position Title: Developer II

External Description:

The Developer II position is a position that will work with business analysts to create and maintain programs and applications to support business needs. This includes designing, documenting, building, and testing programs and applications based on provided business requirements. This position can handle complex programs with minimal guidance. The Developer II should be skilled in the systems and related technologies outlined below, writing sql, and be familiar with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Oracle database knowledge is a plus. The Developer II should be able to handle complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve production issues and program defects. The Developer II is a Mid Level Contributor position.

This position is focused on one of the following technologies:  PeopleSoft, Kapow, Javascript, Reporting & BI, JDE, Web/Mobile


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Development related tasks including writing new programs, maintaining existing programs, unit testing, migration, and documentation of changes. System technical design and analysis. This includes encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs; evaluate requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system and computer capabilities; use structured analysis and design to formulate plans required to develop new programs. Modify the structure of organizational units or a centralized functional activity; participate in establishing/administering centralized functional projects; and submit and administer budget schedules and performance standards. (60%)
  • Provide production support of day to day business operations, working to identify and resolve issues based on priority. Act as an advisor to subordinate supervisors or staff members to help meet established schedules and resolve technical or operational problems. (20%)
  • Customer support, manage technical project and stakeholder communications, to include conducting briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives. Stakeholders include organization managers and leaders as well as customer representatives. Communicate with business partners, customers and analysts to discuss business requirements and explain programming logic as it relates to design and function, operational decisions, scheduling requirements or contractual clarifications. Develop and maintain executive level relationships with field leadership. (20%)

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field Required

Requirements:

  • Development (Design/Build/Unit Test/Migrate): Requires moderate supervision, ability to multitask, capable to handle complex programs with moderate supervision.
  • Production Support: Able to perform basic/medium root cause analysis to identify the problem
  • Customer Support: Mid level contributor; demonstrated working in a team involving customers and other IT counterparts
  • Technical Project Management & Stakeholder Communications: Mid level communication skills both written and verbal. Communicates well with technical counterparts and business counterparts.
  • ETL knowledge (Kapow, python), Web Technologies (HTML, javascript, http); Core javascript, OOP, ORM, Automated Unit Testing, MEAN Stack, SDLC, ETL, SSRS, SSIS, Reporting and other latest technologies related to BI and reporting, Java, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft Application Designer tools 8.4 or higher, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker & Application Packages; SQR, SQL MongoDB, Elastic Search Stack, Java, C#, html5/css3, JavaScript, mobile app development, Git version control, Jenkins. SDLC, OOP, ORM, automated unit testing and performance testing.
