Position Objective

The Accounting Manager in the Accounting Team will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of close responsibilities for team, including journal entries, analysis and account reconciliations related to capital projects, IT and accommodation costs. The role will act as a business partner to relevant stakeholders, supporting, monitoring and influencing business decisions related to functional areas. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to simplify and present complex information to enable leadership decisions. The Accounting Manager is responsible for management and development of Staff and Senior Accountants, as well as supporting the overall operations of the Accounting Department.

The Accounting Manager will exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance that are directly related to the management and operation of the business, including:

Principal Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT and Real Estate groups, other Corporate Support departments and the Field; provide insight into financial results and participate in business planning decisions with these groups
  • Perform technical accounting research related to capital IT projects and accommodation costs, recommend treatment and ensure application of accounting policies with integrity
  • Provide training and guidance for Staff and Senior Accountants, including career development and coaching
  • Monitor and ensure completion of Staff and Senior Accountants’ balance sheet account reconciliations, analysis and journal entries. Review the results of the overall company for responsible functional areas; investigate and report on variances

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • CPA is a Plus

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting
  • Experience managing others
  • Track record of career progression
  • Implementation of processes and procedures
  • Leadership roles is a plus
