Position Title: TAT Office Managing Partner

External Description:

The duties and responsibilities of this position are those customarily associated with managing a professional service firm practice office. The Office Managing Partner (OMP) of a Tatum office will be responsible for building the local practice through market and business development, opportunity pursuit and engagement quality assurance. This position is responsible for accomplishing strategic and budget objectives including building the local practice, achieving revenue and profitability goals and managing a Profit & Loss (P&L). The OMP is responsible for all local office management team hiring, mentoring and development. This position is also responsible for ensuring the overall quality of the Partner and Consultant pools.
Develop process, strategy, and skills to improve sales productivity; leader by example particularly in the area of production; manage sales and delivery of products/services to achieve agreed end result; implement business plan; multi-site management; budget/forecast management; foster strategic alliances, business partnerships, and relationships with key clients

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development Responsibilities:
- Spend 75% of time actively pursuing target clients, growing existing client accounts and networking/marketing Tatum services in the marketplace
- Lead client pursuit activities, proposal generation and pipeline planning and strategy
- Oversee the creation and execution of local market development strategy
- Transfer new and existing client relationships to the team for further account development
- Actively manage client relations to insure that clients receive high quality service
GP/Revenue Responsibility:
- Personal GP quota responsibility. On average the individual will be responsible for managing $4M in revenue annually.
- Manages and leads the achievement of:
o Revenue targets
o Profitability targets
o Utilization targets
- Oversee the pricing of all local office engagements
- Manages the office to an agreed, budgeted P&L
Freedom to Act/Accountability:
- Guidance given: Work is performed without appreciable directions. Determines organizational objectives, interprets company policy and delegates assignments to subordinate managers involving multi-level organizations. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-time perspective for desired results
- Policy involvement: Establishes organizational policies for a major segment of the company. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to company policy.
Supervisory/Relationship:
- Spend 25% of time recruiting, developing and leading the local office management team
- Accomplishes results through combined effort of team:
o Assists Directors of Client Service by making introductions to target companies and existing clients, conducting joint client meetings, reviewing proposals, pricing and staffing, and identifying professional development opportunities
o Assists Directors of Talent Management (TMD) by taking an active role in interviewing new partners/consultants, taking TMDs on client scoping meetings, participating in consultant retention activities, and identifying professional development opportunities
- Oversee the work of designated professionals on marketing efforts
- Manage effective local office orientation & integration of new management team hires
- Provide coaching to team and perform periodic performance reviews as appropriate
Direct Work Involvement/Complexity:
- Leads business development activities and assists other team members in target / client pursuit activities
- Responsible for all projects assigned to the team. Acts as an advisor to subordinate staff members to help meet established schedules or resolved technical or operational problems
- Develop and lead local market communication strategy with team, consultants, partners, clients and target companies
- Lead the process for expanding the market’s awareness of Tatum as the premier source of executive and consulting services
- Oversee the creation and execution of local market strategy
- Expand and maintain key referral source relationships
- Work effectively within the market and on an organization-wide basis to promote the successful expansion of market segment and service offering initiative
- Lead team opportunity pursuits, including client diagnostic sessions, and private equity post-purchase agenda and resource assessments, resulting in:
- A high level of likelihood that engagements will be successful in achieving client’s objectives
- Opportunities that utilize multiple Tatum professionals
- Conversion of position filling opportunities into solution provide engagements
- Lead local teams to source and close new engagements at pricing levels that reflect the premium value delivered by our organization and produces attractive compensation and promotes growth in the market

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in related field required
Advanced degree in related field strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE:
15+ years of experience working and selling professional/consulting services to C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies in local market
Demonstrated experience leading a team in a professional/consulting services setting
Financial/accounting background

SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to develop relationships and to sell Tatum’s four services – CFO, Project, Advisory, Retained – to target companies and clients in the local marketplace
- Ability to understand the needs of the prospective client and to recommend the appropriate solution using the organization’s business model
- Ability to qualify and close deals utilizing appropriate pricing strategy and negotiation
- Ability to recruit, develop and lead a local office team
- Experience and expertise in accounting and controllership issues
- Experience in developing and managing sales and marketing programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to make decisions, take direction and execute a plan
- Detail orientation with follow-through shown in previous jobs
- Able to communicate with and present at the executive level
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
