Position Title: Agile Scrum Coach

External Description:

Position Overview:  

Responsible for the progression of Randstad’s Agile maturity in alignment with an enterprise wide Agile transformation by providing coaching to Scrum and Kanban teams. Coaching will serve as an enabling factor for the faster delivery of higher quality, higher value software, in alignment with product owner requirements.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provides knowledge and expertise around Agile processes while coaching key roles in the organization to be self-sufficient in day-to-day operations and practices
  • Monitors and nurtures a team environment focused on successful product delivery and continuous improvement while helping build a workplace that people are excited to be a part of, where success is celebrated and gratitude is freely given
  • Create and execute on organization-wide agile adoption strategies and rollout plans; strategies for dealing with dependencies and resistance

Education & Qualifications (Required and Preferred): 

  • Agile coach certified or PMI-ACP (PMI Agile Certified Practitioner)
  • 5+ years of work experience as a Developer, QA, Release Manager or any other role that promotes strong understanding of SDLC
  • 3+ years of work experience promoting Agile methodologies and supporting tools
  • 3+ years of experience as a hands on Scrum Master on a minimum of 5 different teams 
  • 2 + year of hands-on Jira experience
  • Having been the architect and driver for one or more agile transformations is a plus, but not a requirement

  • Experience with building and growing cross-functional teams
  • Experience in coaching and delivering training within the agile framework (portfolio, product, and delivery)
  • Experience in coaching and the facilitation of core agile practices including but not limited to: 

o  Scrum

o  Kanban

o  Value stream mapping

o  Feature and story backlog prioritization and grooming

o  Release planning (Product Increment)

o  Iteration/Sprint planning

o  Metrics (at all levels)

o  Story decomposition practices

o  Estimation methods

o  Agile ceremonies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence leaders at all levels within the enterprise
  • Generates enthusiasm amongst team members for trying new approaches and techniques
  • Lead discussions with the Transformation Leadership Team (TLT) on relevant Agile topics
  • Partners with business leaders to increase involvement and communication
  • Remain at the leading-edge of Agile development practices and contribute to their spreading across the organization
  • Partners with key stakeholders and senior leadership in constructing the foundation necessary for transforming to an Agile SDLC
  • Coach team members who are currently performing the Scrum Master role
  • Offers a pragmatic approach to Agile, considering short to mid-term company dynamics/culture that might require additional time and effort to transform over time
  • Ability to coach multiple teams simultaneously, providing the most attention to teams in-need (newly-formed/launched, new to Agile, struggling with Agile concepts, etc.)
