Position Title: Specialist, Payroll

External Description:

Position Overview: 

Execute day-to-day responsibilities for internal and external payroll.  Process all transactions necessary to ensure 100% right-first-time payroll.   Participate in proactive, multi-tasking team environment to achieve departmental and company goals.  Payroll size:  50,000+ payees, 500+ locations, $1+ billion annual.  5 payroll runs per week, plus emergency checks.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Using email and incident management system, collect paper time cards and enter into back office system for payroll processing.
  • ​Using vendor managed systems and other timekeeping tools, ensure time cards is loaded into back office for payroll processing.
  • Respond to field regarding payroll related inquiries.
  • Key Payroll Maintenance
  • Run daily payroll processes
  • Bank Reconciliation (Direct Deposit, Stop Payments, Pay Card)
  • Research W-2 and tax related inquiries and determine the appropriate resolution
  • Enter pay line earnings and deduction adjustments
  • Complete verifications of employment
  • Print and distribute paychecks and pay statements
  • Maintain database integrity through validation queries
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers

 

Education & Qualifications (Required and Preferred): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated work experience in large volume payroll (5,000+ payees).
  • People Soft human resources and payroll experience.
  • Staffing industry experience.
