Position Overview: 

The Supervisor, Business Services is an introductory management role focused on managing the daily operations of a team within the Business Services organization. The Supervisor is responsible for coaching and developing team members to achieve success, as well as achieving operational objectives within a functional area.  This role will focus on one functional area within the team, but is expected to take a broad view of both Randstad’s business and the operational support provided.  A keen eye on process and insights into process improvements will be expected.  Strong financial acumen and a natural curiosity at the intersection of financial operations and technology is required.  While the Supervisor, Business Services will initially lead a Cash Applications team, with successful performance, candidates will have exposure to the full Contracts to Cash operation including opportunities within each sector of the organization.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team’s Service Level Agreements (SLA) and operational standards are met. This will require leadership and management skills, solving problems through root cause analysis, talking to internal and external customers, accurate reporting, working across departments and strong financial skills.
  • Continuous improvement as a LEAN manager, through verifying actual versus expected results, visual management, team huddles and understanding upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Manage a team of individual contributors including hiring, training, performance management and coaching for development.  Successful Supervisors will be strong coaches with an eye for talent.
  • Lead or participate in special projects such as significant reporting and reconciliations, technology implementations, large customer implementations, improve remittance processes and enhance relationships, or other opportunities within or outside of the department. 
  • Resolve and prevent application discrepancies through research and analysis, consulting with AR Analysts and Supervisor when necessary. 
  • Monitor and administer month end close processes and reporting as associated with the cash applications process.

Education & Qualifications (Required and Preferred): 

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years in a financial operations capacity such as Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Payroll or Billing. 
  • Accounting or Finance experience is a plus. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; large data or high volume financial experience preferred
  • Some experience leading a team or project.
